My graduating year. It was a good time all around. Placing 3rd in the city of Montreal Track and Field "shot-put" finals.

Oh the angst of puberty - I wouldn't go back to that in a million years! I do have good memories though - lunch in the cafeteria, chats with Tracey and Miss Taylor after English class, the yearbook office, hanging around the lockers...I remember friendships mostly - but I know I also learned so much. Finding this web site has taken me down memory lane - I'm looking forward to the reunion!

When I went to school at PC I wasted much of my time on things other than learning. Although I had fun, I wish I would have worked harder in classes and homework. Have fun BUT work hard in school.
Mr. Cocciardi (math), Mr. Eustace (English), Miss Paquette (French)
Thanks for this web site. I'm disappointed there was no reunion for the class of 76. If there was I did not hear of it.

All things will come to pass. Smiling yet? This might seem like an odd/negatively slanted message but I do mean it quite literally. Abstaining from using tired clichés that you always hear old people (like myself) say, I will try to convey a truism that perhaps you can think about: Everything Matters! If you take this as fact then the way you view your world will change. Take it all in, be curious, reflect. Try to live by the axiom that teenagers espouse...REALLY be non-judgmental. Do things like you mean it. Laugh your asses off. Oops, what happened. is it my birthday again?

There are so many all involving some sort of practical joke from the pond (where you knew if you went too close you would be help in) where the playing field is now to falling off Mount Royal on grad night- oh yeah.
Fooling around is fun for now, but hard work and staying focused will take you all the way.
Mr Cato, Mr. Lopes Periera
I would love to hear from the class of 76. I am in touch with quite a few grads and would like to know about the others.

I loved Father Joe's office. A great place to play hookey :-) I remember Rory's walkout in support of the Teachers, we felt so empowered. There were so many things, the slave auctions, the sock hops - remember those socks with toes? Winter Carnival was always a great time.
This too shall pass.
Mr. Lopes-Perriera, Miss Wolfe, Mr. McDougall - The Laugh that Rang through the school
I would love to hear from any of the graduates from this first full five year PC graduating class.
Smoking in the chick's bathroom,(blush) and all the horsing around in class. (you guys were really funny) All the great necking parties we organized in everyone basement from school, it's a wonder we ever learned anything. The 1972 Canada/Russia hockey playoffs that they let us watch in the divider classroom where we usually had English. Mr. Pellegrino's business math class, and the way all the guys had the hots for sexy English teacher (Miss Wolf).
We lived in an era that has not repeated itself, I'm sure. The best advice I might give is to stick school out, because I didn't, and although I eventually got my high school leaving, I do so regret not being there that last year and a half. Cherish your friendships, you will not match those in later life.

I arrived in Feb. of Grade 9 and was quite lost. By graduation hung out with Debbie Ferdinand, Dick M. Brian Phillips, Judy Morrision. Concerts in the auditorium and caf.(Mahogany Rush). Trying out for West Side Story and bombing. Seeing Father Joe kiss ? on stage in the play "Young Yankee in King Arthur's Court." Going to John Avery's party and listening to Zeppelin all night long. Riding around with Dick in his parents Mercedes and getting free cigarettes. Coolbrook dances and slow dancing to Bread!
Enjoy the freedom you have now and don't take yourself too seriously.
Loved Mr. Diorio (I was in the "psychology group") he put together. Mr. Colbeck, and Lopes-Perriera, Biology
I've been married for 28 years and have 2 sons, 18 and 15. Worked for 15 years for a portfolio management company, stayed home for 10 then started a different career integrating special needs students into regular classrooms. Working for the Lester B. Pearson School Board I get to attend conferences all the time at PCHS... always brings back memories.

My fondest memory of PC was hanging around with a great bunch of friends in and out of classes. I had 5 fun years, parties, dances, dating and field trips - lots of fond memories!
Have fun and laugh lots in what ever you choose to do with the rest of your life, Be Happy thats what really counts.
Mr Eustace, Mr. Asconi, Miss Wolfe
I heard of the PCHS site from JoDee (Joron) Ferdinand,(great idea) I think it would be great to hear from the fine folks I went to good old PCHS with.
I was on the Honour Roll in May/June 75 and was able to participate in the graduating ceremonies of the class of 75. I was a member of the class of 76, the only class to start when the school first opened in September 71 and graduate in June 76. I have so many memories of the school. I remember when it was basically illegal to cross the cafe line and go to the french side of the school. If you did, and survived, it was an accomplishment. Me and my friends would do it just for the hell of it and hope to live to talk about it! Is the school still 1/2 French and 1/2 English? I've heard that they built a new French school and now PCHS is all English now. Is this true? (Yep -Ed.)
I do remember getting a week or so off school because of the flooding of Pierrefonds Blvd. back in the early 70's. Did they ever fix that? I remember hearing about guys in boats actually catching fish in their boats. Not that I'd actually eat any of them. I'll also always remember the great smoked meat sandwiches in Montreal, especially since I now live in Nova Scotia, the fishing capital of eastern Canada. FISH, FISH, FISH, but I still love it too. But, you can't beat a Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. For me, it was great to be off school for a few days. I'm now living in Nova Scotia. I'm married with two daughters aged 10 and 8. I'd love to get in contact with some of my fellow graduating students of 1976. I could even give them some information concerning Tannis Storsater, who graduated the same year, and whom I have kept in contact with. She is now in Germany, as of Apr 99. Please let me know if anyone ever gets a reunion together! I'd love to be there! As they say, "YOU DON'T GET OLDER, YOU JUST GET BETTER! (I'll always remember Mark Percival!)
Keep Up the great work! If I did it, anyone can do it!
Mrs. Marie Wolffs, Mr. Petrocelli

I will always remember my great friends, the caf, the sock hops, and running to class trying not to be late. Meeting at the lockers to get the latest scoop will stay with me forever as will, assemblies in the auditorium, and our grad. We had such a riot at the Kon Tiki. I will remember Elton John, the Beach Boys and of course The Best of Bread.
Stay in school as long as you can. It opens so many doors for you. You make great friends, you acquire knowledge and you decide what you will do with your life. Work hard, laugh a lot and keep focussed on your goals. You will achieve what you set out to, count on your friends, they will inspire you. Your teachers are your allies, they will help you to achieve.
Mr. Lummis, Mr. Eustace, Miss Taylor
I am currently married, with 3 sons, living in Ottawa. I worked for Bell Canada for 16 years, the last 10 as a Human Resource Professional, retiring in 1998. I stayed home to spend more time with my kids only to find myself back at University to become a teacher.

friends....school dances...firsts...getting in, getting out...hard to think back and pinpoint just one favorite...mostly memories of friends and hanging out in the cafeteria...wish i had kept in touch...looking forward to reunion.
A wild rebellious time. Although I didn't graduate at PCHS - the few years that I spent there and most importantly, the friends and memories, figure prominently. Since then I've travelled extensively, grew up a lot (better late than never!), have a beautiful daughter and have met the man of my dreams - guess I'm happy! Looking forward to attending the Reunion!
If you don't like something, change it - if you can't change it, change your attitude.
Good laughs with Gr8 friends, Donna Bertrand, Sandra Miron, Linda Cook, Maroline McCabe, Lizette, Brady Buller, Laura Leduc, Carole Dumay. Still in touch with Caroline and Sandra Valere, who live in England now. I have visited them a few times in England. Went to Caroline's wedding years back. Remember many names on the school roster.
Be true to yourself and your dreams. Don't be swayed by the tides of school daze. Live your life to the fullest.
Chris Eustace (one cool dude), Dennis Cato (Economics and the World!)
Looking forward to 25th year school reunion.
Université de Montréal (HEC)
Ouf.... with all the fun I had - and the mischief I caused - it's a small wonder I ever made it out alive...!! The non-stop laughter, skipping a class and then spending the whole time hiding behind lockers so I wouldn't be discovered... forging notes (and getting caught 9 times out of 10)... Wow, 25 years later... and I am STILL in awe. (Oh, and worthy of mention - I no longer forge notes!)
All I can say is... if MY kids think THEY are gonna get away with a FRACTION of the stuff I got away with... have I got news for THEM!!!
Pelegrino (ahhh... blush), Stevens (blush), Eustace (yep - blush again)
I've been in Vancouver since 1981, but my husband works for Air Canada so I visit Montreal often... I'm still in touch with Elaine Arsenault & Helen Donachey... I know Donna Demers lives in DDO, and I'm hoping to contact her soon... but - sniff - I lost Louise Allan. (Have you seen her?) I'm hoping to track her down prior to the reunion..... !!

I don't have just one fondest memory.....but, the best memories I carry with me today are just all the faces I remember and all the people I had met and made long friends with. I remember the Flood, the student walkout in support of the teachers (HeeHee), Shultz the guard, Winter Carnivals, all the Sock Hops... just too many memories. Just coming to this page brings all the memories back.
These will be some of the best years of your life.... use them well..

The ski trip to Davos where Mr. Oss led us down the streets of Davos looking for an open pizza parlor only to end up at a dead end brick wall. We were loud and proud Canadians singing "O Canada" at the top of our lungs to a sleepy mountain community. Forgive us please Davos.
Never give up. Apply yourself. Now is the time to set your lives on the right course. Father Sullivan told us the journey of a thousand leagues begins with a single step. It is all so true. If you can dream it, you can do it. Last but certainly not least remember that life is the school where they give the test and then teach you the lesson.

Many fond memories - some stroke of scheduling luck granted me senior lunch while still a junior which enabled me to access the senior's smoking lounge - talk about cool (thankfully I quit in 1992 - west coasters can't believe we had a smoking lounge). Laughing and giggling with girlfriends in classes to the point of hysterics - gals such as Tina Beaulieu, Pam LeBlanc, Bobbie Burke, etc. Beating Riverdale at girls' football, dances, PCHS Ski Club, variety shows (did I really play "Stairway to Heaven" on the piano?), the list goes on... Coming up with creative ways of getting out of class without "really" skipping. Taking as many history and English classes as possible to avoid science courses at all costs (which my engineering type husband shakes his head at). It sure was fun (or at least my memory is telling me it was).
While nothing we say will make an ounce of difference, if it did, I would say to make sure to continue your education. Give yourself time to have fun, but keep it in balance.
All of the history teachers - Wendell McDougall, Dennis Cato, Kathy Panet, Miss Wolfe, Mr. Buchner
I moved to Vancouver in 1984, went to law school and have been practicing family law for 11 years. I am married to Ron and have 2 wonderful daughters, Grace, almost 7 and Natalie, age 4. I have my own law practice and work 3 days per week. I'm trained in a new process called "Collaborative Separation & Divorce" and you can see about it on the website. My family is all on the "wet coast". My parents live in White Rock (35 miles south of Vancouver) and my siblings are all out here. Life is great. I'm thrilled about the reunion and am hoping to attend. I love re-connecting with so many

I want to hear where my class mates are and what they are up to.
Being elected Senior Vice-President of the student council for grade 11 (see My REAL Favourite Memory posting in Class of 76 bulletin board if you want more details). Also the way I was treated by my former classmates after being expelled for starting the the riot in our last year was pretty cool.
It may sound trite, but: "Don't worry, be happy." I like Simon Romano's advice to try your best, also.
Miss Eakins (don't remember her married name), Mr. Udo Buechner, Mr. Louis Stevens
PCHS was NOT a good school when I went to it (poorly administered). However, in spite of the shortcomings it had good faculty members and good kids attending. I'm sure many graduates have gone on to great success, however they define it, in spite of everything.

I'm not sure I call them memories as much as vague recollections (hell most of the next days were bleary in grade 10-11). My warmest thoughts are of Cathy G. and Rona Mc. Reading ancient Greek poetry in Mr. Cato's class. The inspiration that was Mr. MacDougall -- you may not want to take credit for some of the wackier episodes but I still have the acknowledgment from the QATH conference, Thanks. Gees this is so cool-I hardly remember the head soaks in the washroom guys. I have the goofiest picture of a group of us in my parents backyard before the grad (I will bring copies with me).
The tougher moments are the ones that will teach you. the good moments are the ones you should remember. Be true to yourself. Whenever you think that PCHS has never seen one like you before -- remember we were there too.
Mr. MacDougall, Mr. McNaught, Mr. Cato

That's a tough one. Soooo many laughs and people you meet. Life also seemed so serious when you were 16 and thought you had the world by the tail. The toughest memory was probably trying to play football weighing in at 75lbs soaking wet and trying to stay alive as Malekos & Dobric used me as blocking bag. Got smart quick and turned to a sport suited to more slimmer builds - Squash!
Eat your wheaties! Have fun while you're there, you only get one go around. Follow your passions in life and don't be afraid to try new things. Live Life Large!

Finally being in Grade 11--the big cheeses! Oh yeah, and becoming friends with Pam LeBlanc, the funniest person on the planet.
It's all too easy to drift and let things happen as they may. That may be romantic, but the truth is, you turn 40 before you know it and suddenly you realize that you still don't know what you want to be when you grow up...Think about what you love to do and what you are good at doing. Ask yourself how you can turn it into a career. Find people who do it or who are in the field and get their advice/help. And start moving in that direction. Be true to yourself, and be prepared to work hard. Happiness will come to you, and you will shine. Oh, and don't forget to also do the things that make you laugh and feel good about yourself, whether or not they end up "career" moves. Let's be realistic-life is WAY more than jobs, jobs, jobs. Never stop learning, never stop listening, and have kids - they're the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Lopes-Pereira, but I didn't know it,. then.
What a great idea this web site is, especially in light of the fact that the class of '76 was too traumatized to have an actual reunion.... jess kiddin'! My fondest memory of PCHS is of the friends I had there. Other fond memories include: lunch hour in the cafeteria, Mr. Cato saying that three weeks in England would be far more educational than three weeks in school, Mr. MacDougall's laugh, Miss Wolfe's fabulous clothes and the exotic information that she had been a ballet dancer, the hilarious fact that our field trips were always to the War Museum in Ottawa (remember the tilted World War Two room?) or Upper Canada Village, and April Wine in the school auditorium. My non-fondest memory is, of course, hanging from the bar in the gym during the Canada Fitness Test every year.

There are so many, but I think most were small moments in time. I remember Rory's mini-revolt ... I felt so radical!
I remember snowball fights while waiting for the buses, my first dance, my first date, arriving at school too early and having to chat with Oscar "the security guard." I used love hanging out in Father Joe's office at lunch. Mainly I loved the variety of people. I was always quiet so I liked watching and listening to others.
Don't sweat the small stuff ... plenty of big stuff is going to come along later. Find something you love to do and then find a way to make living doing it!

Wow - too many memories to actually single one out as my fondest. Probably Chez Paul's and the smoking rooms (although I'm happy to say that I quit 12 years ago!)
Standing on the middle section of the stairway between the library and cafeteria thinking we were cool (only in grade 11!)
Among my fondest memories are all the great friendships I had, especially the ones that have remained since graduation.
I have a message, but at 16 most teens won't care about it, because it's not until you are older that you realize the value of high school. My message is to have fun, but try to take the work seriously and get a good education. It really is important, and easier to do when you're there, rather than have to go back when you are older (like I did).

Surviving? Just kidding. The parties, the freedom, the fun, the friends. The toll booth set up by some students during the flood, when Pierrefonds Blvd. traffic was re-routed through the school ground (between the school and the gym).

Good friends... parties, dances, football games, musicals, biking, and just hanging out.
Married for 17 years, with a girl and boy, 11 and 9.
Grade 7: hanging out in library with Pearl, Chris and Mr. Delahantey; Grade 9: my first serious boyfriend, trying to stay out of trouble but stay cool; Grades 10 and 11: hanging out in the smoking room with the "Keep on Trucking" guy painted on the wall. Hanging out, outside in spring and enjoying the tunes from PCHS's radio station blaring out of the speakers, all the winter carnival activities, last day of school.
