Class of 1979 |
Ahhhh! Let me think! Most of it was a blur! (I wonder why! lol). One incident does come back to me quite often though, and that was the day in Auto class when Mr. Kohn chased Noel O'Brien (Hewit) around the class, needless to say it was a tense moment for Hewit, but god that was a laugh! Another that you, Kelly would remember was the day on our bus from Dorval that Josée Noel wore a hockey helmet on the bus! (I wonder why? LOL). There are numerous other memories... too many to list, all I can say is they were the best of times! Other friends of those days were, Bazz, McGoo, John Derry. I haven't had contact with anyone since '79 except Josée who is still in Dorval and keeps in touch from time to time. It would be great to hear from others of the Class of 1979!
Study, study, study! Something I didn't do and regret to this day!
Mr. Kohn

Dancing with Coleen Sulivan at the school dances. What ever happened to her? Mrs. Olenocin's TD class, she was the only reason that I kept my sanity in those high school years.
Don't spend all that time wasting everyone's time like I did. Make something of your time in school. If I could only do it all again!

Not too many fond memories of the school itself, but many of some of my close friends at the time.
If anyone tries to make you decide what career you will follow before you hit university, tell them to go away! So many changes will happen as you go along. What you like today, you may end up hating tomorrow.

Painting a new year in the "banner". Coulda finished it sooner but 'Hig' had to pull out from
the bottom of the pyramid to find his car keys while Frank was finishing up. Almost became "Class of how Frank broke his head."
Big beers at the PB, Chez Paul and the 1300. Funniest bunch of people I've ever met. Great times.

To be honest, aside from the young ladies I dated while in high school, I have very few if any fond memories of P.C.H.S. I can put on a post-it-note the amount of valuable information I retained from my days in that prison. As it does today, the public school system lacks all the vital components necessary to stimulate young minds. I gained the most in life outside the school system. The huge consumption of illegal substances during my time there didn't help either I must add. Luckily I grew out of that habit when I left there and now live with my wife and two beautiful sons (Nicholas 10 and Douglas who is 8) just km's from P.C. I know this might be hard to believe but I have been with my wife for 20 years. I finally met the right one for me. Lucky lucky me!
Home school!

2 delicious muffins for 25 cents. My great and close friends who I shared many laughs with. The yearly Carnival festivities. Especially grade 11 when I got my braces off and hung around with a good bunch of interesting people who were active and plugged in.
Enjoy the great times. Get involved so you create special memories. Although high school sometimes feels like the be-all, end-all while you are in it, there is so much more to come, so try not to take it all too seriously.
