Class of 1980 |
My fondest memory of P.C. is when we had a "sit-in" because the higher ups decided we didn't need "extra curricular" activities any more. I ended up spending the whole day in the vice-principals office all day and missing all the fun!
Also the music at lunch time over by the gym... when they played "sweet madame blue" i was late for class... tee hee. Glen Williams! That guy got me into so much trouble. we had a lot of fun, didn't we?

Everyone has their own perspective on life. Education, however, broadens that perspective, enables one to be more creative and allows one to find solutions to problems and arrive at conclusions they would have not otherwise arrived at without such an education. So there!
Wilbrecht: Auto Mechanics. Love the guy!
Went back to visit PCHS in 1998. Prior to that haven't been there since 1980. Brought back lots of good memories...quite refreshing. We must have a 25 year reunion in 2005! Lets get to work ya'll! Cheers!

There are so many! Going to get a coffee from the machine, a bun with butter and then outside for a cigarette (sometimes freezing to death)! Sharing a very messy locker with Carol. The Pioneer raid - at least 60% were from PC and caught (not Andrea and I) plus so many more! The making of friends that turn out to be life long buddies.! That's the best!
Just have a blast! This is the best time of your life even if you don't think so now! Believe me, you will be thinking back and saying the same things we are! ENJOY!

Hanging out with the great friends that were made in 79/80. Sneakin out for lunch, and smokin' in the cold!! The dance committee, the carnival committee, and every other committee you could sneak into!! And the "gang";... Sharon Murphy, Craig Belanger, Rick Martin, Caroline Belliveau, Mike Morrison, Mike Radford, Nathan Weinstein, Robert Straker,Lindsay Walker, Karen Crofton, Yves Wertz, Johanne Therrien, etc. etc. etc.!
Make the best friends you ever will while you're there. They will be the ones that will stick by your for life! Always aim for the straight and true - never pass up the chance to meet someone new. Never know what you're gonna learn from them! Remember, you can be one person in the whole world, or the whole world to one person. :o)

Please indulge me with several:
- Playing high school hockey and soccer.
- Watching "The Smudges" (Jean Marier, Kevin O'Farrell, and ???) perform at Winter Carnival. Will there be a reunion tour?
- The oh-so-tight pants on many of the girls (I won't name names) whom I admired from afar.
- Joking around at the back of chemistry and physics class with Pierre Montcalm, Kevin O'Farrell, and Mike Hurtubise.
- Believe it or not, learning from some pretty decent teachers (no, my nose is no longer, or ever was, brown).
- Having a forehead that doesn't extend over my ears.
So many clichés, so little space. Nevertheless, here are some that have rung true with me:
- Don't worry if high school is not the best (choose one: 5_ 6_ 7_) years of your life, because there is life after high school. Anyway, why would you want to peak so early?
- It's better to be kind than to be right.
- Choose your friends and spouse(s!) wisely.
- Time doesn't heal all wounds, but love does.
- Be careful about what you wish for; you may get it.
- Seize the day (I don't know how to spell the Latin phrase "Car-pay Dee-um" from the movie "Dead Poets Society").
- Be passionate and have fun in all that you do.
- You only regret the things you didn't try.
- You only regret the people you didn't do.
- When you start to get grey hair, be thankful for the hair that you have!

- Still love the Habs (even though these are now the very lean years, unlike the glory days of the 70's).
- Still like the Sens (even though they choked against the Leafs).
- Still hate the Leafs (always have, always will).

I remember all the fun we had all the time.. They were definitely the best times of our lives.

Visiting this site is a blast from the past, and really a lot of fun. Keep up the good work.
Having met people at P.C. I still see and have keep in touch with since school, Kevin Nichol, Rick Desjardins, Tom Cloutier, and Dawna Stacey (Watson). Skipping school and hanging at the Residence. Dating the same guy and gaining a friend out of it, right DS. Our reunion of '95, starting at the Residence and ending on the speakers at Bourbon!
Enjoy your school days, a lot of memories you will later on in life cherish. This is where you will make life long friends.

The GREAT friends I made, some are still my closest friends today, Diane Jodoin, Mike MacCormac, Rhonda Beck (but she's my cousin), Marijo Lamb. I have MANY really fond memories from PCHS but two that really STICK OUT are when my bathing suit top fell off in the fashion show and nearly getting kicked off the cheerleading team for "mooning" the bus in back of us (what do you expect when our team was named after a brand of condoms).
Enjoy life to the fullest, but be smart. Respect yourself and others because what you give out does come back to you. Do not harm and be your own person. Use whatever talents you have for greater purposes. Be appreciative and honest. Grow up but stay young. And very importantly, live while you're alive and sleep when you're dead!

Stay in school as long as you can; seems long at the time, but you will realize once it is behind you that it was done in no time at all.

Student Council meetings in the office with Sam. Pep, Little Joe, Tuk, John and Tony. The friendships I made then and have maintained since, especially Terry Girouard. They say if you make one truly pure friend in life who is always there for you then you are blessed and so I am. The best memories are activities like the Carnivals, school dances, variety shows.
What seems like the end of the world in high school will mean very little in years to come. You will change and so will the people around you. Always keep an open mind and believe in the power of change. You never know who is coming back into your life down the road so just try to be nice to everyone. Do your best even when you don't feel like it.

Hanging with the lunchtime gang in the cafeteria.
We were all in french immersion and used to discuss everything from teachers to girls to tv programs and of course music. The gang included:
Mark Stachiew,Pierre Chackal,Steve Morris,Walter Taciani,Steve Flowers and Steve Saulnier. Most will remember me as "tippy toes"due to my disability I used to and still walk on my toes.
stay in school it'll be worth it in the end.
Mr Watson
Unfortunately besides being known as tippy toes.I
also was absent frequently due to various medical
problems. The good news is I've been in great health since high school.I have spent the last 27 years competing in the paralympic games for the physically disabled in track and have travelled all over the world.I also participate in road races and do everything from 5k to full marathons.
As far as work,I worked briefly in Radio in northern ontario and for the last 20 years have been working with mentally handicapped individuals
in Sudbury, ontario.I also left PCHS in November 1979 and moved to Ontario.
The very first day of 1980 as I sat in the audience of assembly, I noticed this beautiful tiny young woman and realized that this was a childhood friend of mine i have known since I was 2 but had lost touch with. I was so happy to see Sandy Stacey again and we stayed good friends since then.
Stay in school and study hard then when your ready to go out into the world and work etc... do your best you possibly can and don't forget to have some fun too.

The first time I ever skipped a class - and got caught!! (grade 8, Mr. Garbe -ugh!); learned that all I needed was a gold pass to get out of class - so much easier than having to go to Mr. Barrett's office!
When I think about all the time I spent with a phone book and a phone (not even a portable one!) trying to locate all the '80 grads for our '95 reunion - if only we had all this web and e-mail stuff! I only went to PCHS for one year (8th grade), as my parents moved us to Fort Lauderdale in 1977, but I would have graduated with y'all in 1980... It was a huge school and it definitely needed some more walls, doors, and windows... the 'open plan' school just doesn't work.
